Discover the ancient art of haiku

& the modern juxtaposition of words

This is a lovely book. From the discerning eye rendered at the tip of the pen are poems that grace us with sensitivity and insight.

Bowman and Canino provide a haiku journey rich in visual-textual allure.

Enjoy Haiku!     Free Introductory Classes

The introductory talk is the first in a series of 4 classes designed to help you understand and enjoy haiku. We look at central themes in haiku through the poems of the early Japanese masters as well as modern poets. In each 18 - 28 minute session we explore how haiku reflects the era of the author as well a timelessness of each poem that speaks across the ages.  New concepts are introduced in each class including the roles of the seasons, human nature, poetics and contemplative practice in haiku.
